We are again offerering $10 tickets for the entire family for the upcoming Auburn Symphony concert this weekend. Ms. Sunmark will be in the percussion section.
The Auburn Symphony Orchestra's final program of the 2012-13 season on Saturday, April 27
and Sunday, April 28
is one you won’t want to miss. You
will be treated to two major compositions that changed the musical status quo
in their day and offer a bold and challenging experience for today’s fan of
classical music. Featured together on the same program, Richard Strauss’
Death and Transfiguration and Igor
Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring are monumental works that give our
musicians yet one more opportunity to shine for you as we close out our
16th season. As a special addition to the program, conductor
Stewart Kershaw will introduce you to the exciting Rite of Spring from
the podium, and with snippets played by the orchestra, will familiarize
you with the music you are about to hear. It
will be a mini-lecture with live musical examples!
Saturday evening’s concert begins at 7:30 and
Sunday’s matinee at 2:30, both with a pre-concert lecture 45 minutes
prior.
If you are interested in tickets please email Ms. Sunmark no later than Thursday, April 25th, with your name and the number of tickets you would like reserved for you. You can pay for and pick up your tickets at Will-Call on the concert day. Concerts are at the Auburn Performing Arts Center. In order to receive the $10 per ticket price your Maywood music student must be attending with you. sunmarkk@issaquah.wednet.edu
