Maywood Concert Band
This is the 6th grade band. No previous experience is necessary. Curriculum for this level includes instrument set up, posture, producing a quality tone, care and maintenance, beginning levels of rhythmic patterns, scales of Bb, Eb, Ab, gm, F and C and parts of the chromatic scale. Repertoire ranges from beginning level 1/2 to advanced beginning 1 1/2.

This is our mostly 7th grade students. We build on the previous year's experience. Students may join who have no experience but private lessons are recommended to help you catch up quickly.
Repertoire range begins at level 1 1/2 and progresses to intermediate level 2 or 2 1/2. Scales include all previous scales plus cm, fm, dm, am, Db and the chromatic scale.

These are our 7th and 8th grade student ensembles. Students must have at least one year of experience to join this ensemble. They also perform at the Eastshore Region Music Festival in the spring. Repertoire ranges from 2 to medium advanced 3 1/2. Scales include all major scales plus all previously learned minor scales.
